Hi! My name is Kaj-Ivar van der Wijst. I live in Belgium, somewhere near Liège.

I love design, especially Photoshop-, Illustrator- and webdesign. You can see at this site all of my designs.
I have made a few websites. Of course this one, and I think it is the best one. I have made the whole site on my own: the design and the php, xhtml and css coding.

I also love music, and only rock: indie, emo, hardrock, punk, alternative, ... . I don't like metal. My favourite bands are Kaiser Chiefs, Fratellis, My Chemical Romance, Muse, The View, The Strokes, The Feeling, ... . (later I'll add the whole list of the bands I like: ± 95 bands!)

I really don't like Windows, because it's slow, you have to pay for everything, it always crashes, etcetera , etcetera , etcetera. I really would like to have a Mac, but unfortunately, I can't pay it :-(, that's why I've got Linux (I use Debian). But because Linux can't run many programmes (like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Itunes, ...), I've made a dual-boot between Linux and Windows. Dual-boot is a system where you can choose between two or more operating systems when the computer starts up.

I can't program that bad: I know Perl and PHP (with MySQL) and C++ very well, and I also know Javascript, CSS, XHTML (with XML). In C++ I can only make command-line programms (without graphic interface), but I'm learning the Windows API (to make Windows applications). Now I'm learning an other language: Python.

I also like building computers. I've build my father's whole computer, and I've changed my own computer a lot. For example I've changed my hard disk, my RAM-memory, etc.
